The above photos show a computer that was rendered useless when it overheated. This is very common on computers that are around cigarette smoke or other unclean air.
Most people don't realize how important air circulation is to a computer. Fans are used to move the air over the critical parts of the computer - the CPU, graphics processor, power supply, etc. Over time, dust and other airborne particles accumulate around the fans. In some cases, fans can become so clogged with dust and grime that they are no longer able to keep the system from overheating. Stress on the fans causes wear on their bearings, so if you hear an obnoxious buzzing sound coming from inside of your computer its probably a worn out fan. Once there is no air circulation to one of these critical areas, such as the processor, it will overheat, sometimes causing serious permanent damage. As it turns out, second hand smoke effects more than we thought. But cigarettes are not the only things that cause dust buildup; your pets may also be contributing. Fur is a very common thing to find alot of.
I can come to your house and perform a thorough physical cleaning on your computer for $25 (1/2h).
If you smoke, have dogs or cats, or have never had your computer cleaned before, I would highly recommend it. While I am there I will evaluate your computer's health and advise you on what it may need.
